Semblanza

Manuel Cebral (La Coruña, 1979) es Doctor en Filosofía por la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela con la tesis “La revolución cibernética desde la filosofía de Gilles Deleuze: una revisión crítica de las herramientas de minería de datos y Big Data” (2019). Tiene una maestría en “Aprendizaje estadístico y minería de datos” (UNED, 2017) así como otra en “Arte, filosofía y creatividad” (Universidad de Valencia, 2006). Sus intereses actuales se centran en la aplicación de las nuevas tecnologías a las Humanidades así como la reflexión crítica acerca del impacto de éstas en la sociedad.

Su experiencia laboral ha sido tanto como docente por la especialidad de Filosofía en Enseñanza Secundaria en España (2007-2018) así como de gestor y productor cultural en el Laboratorio de arte y tecnología Alg-a (2011-2017). En este último ámbito ha coordinado y dirigido proyectos relacionados con la innovación, tales como "Cosateca: plataforma de licencias libres para compartir cosas" (2017), "herm3TICa: cámaras, sensores y telepresencia" (2015) o "Cooperland: prácticas cooperativas ciudadanas" (2013-14). Asimismo ha participado en diversos congresos como relator o ponente, algunos de los más recientes han sido: Technopolitics (Sao Carlos, 2018), TechLing’18 (Lisboa, 2018) o Artificial Intelligence Conference (Porto, 2018). En 2019 entra en contacto con el Tecnológico de Monterrey para integrarse a la entrada de Estudios Creativos apoyando otros proyectos como la Maestría en Humanidades digitales o la coordinación del seminario del doctorado Ciencia, Tecnología y Sociedad.

Investigaciones realizadas

"Humanities Digital Lab" (2019) es un proyecto presentado a la convocatoria Fronteras de la ciencia de Conacyt en el que se utilizan tecnologías inmersivas e interactivas para aumentar la significatividad en los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje de las Humanidades. El proyecto está diseñado en colaboración con la Escuela de Ingeniería y Ciencia del Tecnológico de Monterrey.
"herm3TICa: cámaras, sensores y telepresencia" (2015) es un proyecto realizado en España con la ayuda del Ministerio de Cultura y en colaboración con la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela.
