Semblanza
Arturo Alberto Hernández Medina has been the Head of the Language Department on Campus Guadalajara since 2003 and for the Western Region since 2017. He has been an EFL teacher since 1998 at Tecnológico de Monterrey where he has taught various courses such as Remedial English, Business Communication, English for Law, Finance and Accounting students at university level, BULATS and TOEFL preparation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in TEFL from the University of Guadalajara and a Master of Education in Applied Linguistics and TEFL from the Tecnológico de Monterrey. He has also taught French at basic levels in Guadalajara and Spanish at all levels in Maine, USA.
He worked as Academic Consultant for Oxford University Press in the area of English for children and he also taught English at various companies such as Dulce Montes. He has presented various workshops on Teaching English and Spanish as a foreign language at local, regional and international forums. He was national coordinator of the Business Communication course and he has assisted the English Program at the Social Incubators of the Tec Campus Guadalajara.
He is currently a member of the Jalisco State Committee to Enhance Linguistic Competencies led by Jalisco’s Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology and served as Treasurer for MEXTESOL Jalisco Chapter for five years. He has over 20 years of experience in language teaching and his areas of professional interest are assessment, technology in education, class observation feedback and technological innovations in language teaching.
