Justification

In today´s competitive enterprises, convergence is one of the required guidelines when a business problem requires of a multidisciplinary approach for a solution.

Two of the most important of these disciplines are management and informatics. Professionals who can work in these fields are the ones that can have a better strategic approach and contribute more with each decision and action.

Graduate profile

In the “Master in information technology management”, students are trained to the objective to enable them to face the problems that involve these two areas without ignoring any other area that can be related, using a system approach. Furthermore, this training puts them in a position of knowledge that allows them to develop a more proactive function.

Graduates will be able to:

  • Exert transformational leadership and be agents of change in organizations, through the use and adoption of cutting edge information technology.
  • Promote a systems approach for modeling complex situations, solution of problems, decision making and strategy planning.
  • Effectively boost organizational development through the knowledge of organizational behavior and the adequate management of human resources.
  • Contribute and improve organizations competitiveness through an adequate and effective application of information technologies.
  • Promote the design of organizations that learn and comprehensively develop the elements that integrate it.
  • Rationally develop critical analysis of alternatives to enterprise IT problem solving. Suitable for the roles of:
  • Executives with high capabilities of integrated business design (CIOs - Chief Information Officers) through an adequate management of resources of information technologies to compete in global arenas.
  • Expert consultants able to capitalize the strategic and differentiated use of information technologies as enhancers of their professional areas.
  • CKOs (Chief knowledge officers) in the planning of technological resources.

Target audience

Professionals that want to support the transformation of organizations through the use of information technologies (IT) in their business strategy, engineering, production and informatics areas.

Research areas

Of the various areas of concern and interest in contemporary informatics, the research professors of “Campus Monterrey” specialized in this field have identified three lines of innovation and competitiveness:

  • Strategic value of the information technologies in e-business environment.
  • Management of IT resources with a systems approach.
  • Knowledge management.
