"Political economy takes care of the interaction between the Economics and Politics, in the substantive and methodological
issues. Example of the first is the relation between the distribution of political power and the distribution of richness. Example of the latter is the application of the economics rationality in theory and practice, in the political decision- making processes. Based on previous courses on macroeconomics, politics, and international economics, this course attempts to create a theoretical framework for reference so that students understand the concepts and dilemmas of economic policy. Furthermore, students become familiar with different steps in economic politics that have been taken since 1992 and with the difficulties for implementing these policies in both the domestic and the international environment. The adequate study of this subject permits to integrate and round-up other courses of the Economics program.
