To obtain a professional degree from Tecnológico de Monterrey, the following is required:
1. To have fulfilled, in accordance with current regulations, the prior academic requirements of the corresponding curriculum, through initial assessment or introductory-level courses.
2. To have completed all curricular units of the corresponding study plan, either by passing all courses at Tecnológico de Monterrey, or by obtaining revalidation or equivalency agreements in accordance with applicable regulations for part of the coursework completed at other institutions, and passing the remaining courses at Tecnológico de Monterrey.
3. To have demonstrated the level of proficiency established by the Institution in the competencies defined in the study plan.
4. To have completed and passed at least 50% of the academic credits comprising the study plan at Tecnológico de Monterrey. Flexibility in this requirement may apply to programs established jointly with other universities through formal agreements.
5. To have completed the required social service in accordance with current legal provisions and the applicable social service regulations.
6. To have taken the external examination authorized by the Academic and Educational Innovation Vice Presidency to assess the knowledge and skills acquired during the professional program. This requirement applies only to students in professional programs for which such examinations exist. The result of this examination will be recorded in the student’s academic file. In programs where such an examination does not exist, students must take the comprehensive exams designed for this purpose. This requirement applies only to students in professional programs for which such examinations exist.
Additional requirements for this program:
7. To have completed the International Business disciplinary courses in the fourth, fifth, and eighth semesters of the study plan in a language other than Spanish, passing all such courses at Tecnológico de Monterrey, except for those accredited through equivalency or revalidation agreements in accordance with applicable regulations for studies completed at other institutions in a language other than Spanish. This requirement does not apply to variable courses (Professional Electives, Special Topics, Tec Weeks, General Education courses, and the Multidisciplinary Elective).
8. To have completed and passed, on a full-time basis, coursework equivalent to 18 academic credits at foreign universities or institutions with which Tecnológico de Monterrey maintains collaboration agreements, in a language other than Spanish.
9. To demonstrate a C1 level of English proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), through one of the examinations authorized by the Institution.
If a student does not meet the additional graduation requirements, the Office of Academic Services will change the student’s major to the Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, under which the student may obtain the corresponding professional degree, provided that they meet the graduation requirements of that program.
