General Education and Support for the Vision

Prior to 2019

Versions 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2017 of the curricula incorporate a curricular area consistent with the Vision, aimed at promoting a humanistic education that develops critical thinking and an ethical sense of responsibility towards oneself and others, towards cultural diversity and the natural environment, in order to build an equitable, sustainable and democratic world through the development of skills and abilities that will allow the construction of knowledge from multiple perspectives.

The courses that make up the General Education curricular area and that serve to support the Vision of Tecnológico de Monterrey are structured as follows:

Area of Humanities and Fine Arts (at least three courses)

Learning objectives:
• Acquire a vision of the main ethical dilemmas in today’s world and the analysis tools necessary to address them critically and with well-supported arguments.
• Know, analyze and enjoy a variety of artistic expressions in order to understand the world and the social and personal reality.

Two ethics courses are required for all programs

• Apply analysis and critical thinking skills to understand, as citizens of Mexico and the world, the cultural differences that affect human behavior, and, in this way, be able to bring about change for social well-being.
• Develop entrepreneurship and innovation skills in order to detect business opportunities and create competitive companies that will contribute to the country’s progress. .
